You Are Good is an inspirational t-shirt company created to highlight the needs of abused children and the agencies that work tirelessly to make their lives better. This clothing is meant to empower each one of us.
One of my greatest passions is helping children in need. For the past fourteen years, I have volunteered with multiple agencies and advocated for abused children. I am currently an advocate with CASA of Travis County and working with Lifeworks of Austin. The stories, emotions and heartache that I have witnessed over the years have motivated me to want to do more than just donate money or attend fundraising events. I wanted to bring my message to the public in a tangible way.
Therefore, the line of clothing You Are Good was launched in December of 2007. The designs of angel wings remind us that the individuals served by these agencies are so much more than what has happened to them. Their circumstances do not and should not define them. They are beautiful, smart, and engaging, and can truly have great futures with a little guidance and support. Over the years I’ve made sure to tell every child that I’ve worked with that they should have little wings on their backs! You should see the smiles and confidence that come across those sweet little faces when they are told that they are angels. Those are the looks of confidence I and all advocates look for!
Every time you see someone with these wings on their clothing, I hope that it is a reminder of the difficulties facing many women and children in our communities and the extensive efforts of the agencies in place to assist.
These shirts are not only to highlight the on going need to stop abuse and neglect but also to make anyone feel good. I’ve sent shirts to friends for their birthdays, used them as stocking stuffers and given them as gifts at baby showers!
Each shirt comes with an inspirational tag that bears the following message:
